Michelle Obama and her far-left husband are being criticized by righties for an expensive trip to Spain while we're coming out of a recession. Bush was criticized every time he went to his Texas ranch while the wars against the Islamic nutjobs were raging.
When will the nonsense end? Perhaps with the end of humanity.
I'm dusting off the same shrug I used then: a president, and his wife and children, can take vacations and relax now and again, regardless of the state of the nation, warfare, or anything else. Does anybody really want the president to chain himself to the desk in the Oval Office and work 18-hrs-day for four straight years? Didn't think so.
There are too many very good reasons to be unhappy with the current administration to complain about a vacation, even an expensive one.
The two parties (and prevailing ideologies) in the USA are beginning to look more and more like circus caricatures. Identical complaints are brought out by each side and lobbed at whoever is president. A friend of mine said of the strange nature of the Dem/Repub situation: "Maybe it's a two-man con." He's right.

Hell yes everybody needs a vacation. I save up for a couple weeks so I can get fall down drunk, have a blackout, and pretend I went somewhere nice like Spain.
I'll pick up a 12-er tonight and meet you in Madrid.
