Renegades of the Empire

I'm half way through the book Renegades of the Empire. This book should be bad, so bad that I should have put it down right away. If somebody had held the book up and said to me, "Hey, try this book about the history of DirectX," I would have laughed.

Yet, the book is fantastic. The story, characters, and writing are all terrific. I highly recommend it.

The main character in this true story, Alex St. John, was a loose cannon:
Rather than a polished salesman, such as Brad Chase, Microsoft's slick marketing vice president, St. John "looked like a bomb going off."
Here's the book at Amazon.
