Holy compass inaccurate

This is a strange one, from Reuters:

Indonesia's Muslims learned on Friday they have been praying in the wrong direction, after the country's highest Islamic authority said its directive on the direction of Mecca actually had people facing Africa.

I wonder how this will affect Obama's priority for NASA, outreach to the Muslim world to "advance space travel"? Islamic compasses installed in our spacecraft might make them veer off course. Astronauts will miss the International Space Station and plunge, helplessly, into deep space.
