Iraq: liberals confounded

Last week a poll of the Iraqi people showed that more than 60% feel positive about the future. Close on the heels of that news, yesterday’s parliamentary elections drew more than 70% of the population. The list of the confounded this morning is very, very long indeed:

Chuck Schumer
Ted “I’ll have another” Kennedy
Nancy Pelosi
Howard Dean
Barbara Boxer
John Kerry
Cindy Sheehan
Michael Moore
CNN
The Guardian
(and other liberal cowards)

So, are these liberals and liberal institutions starting to understand the situation on the ground in Iraq -- that it's not all bombings and terror? Or do they understand, and simply stand against the Iraqi people because GWB is standing with them? It's peculiar and sad, whichever turns out to be true.
