Liberals: pleasing people is leadership

A whiney liberal calling herself "misslaura" at the Daily Koolaid unwittingly revealed the mindset of her entire ilk in this bit about the coming increase of troops in Iraq:

Reuters is reporting that 3500 troops may be sent to Kuwait in the next few weeks to be ready to move into Iraq as part of the "surge" of 20,000-30,000 additional troops. Such an escalation is being advocated by George W. Bush and John McCain, even as a recent NPR poll found that 68% of Americans surveyed wanted US troops withdrawn in the next six months.

I'm sure 68% of Americans would like the federal government to give them $50 million, too. Do any liberals understand that leadership is not the same as pleasing people?
