Bob Costas and gun violence

Bob, quoting a writer, says, "If Jovan Belcher didn’t possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today."

Couple of points here. One, nobody can know if this is true. Guns aren't the only tools with which to kill people. Misguided (and just plain stupid) comments like this remind me of a Volvo commercial from a few years ago. A woman said that her Volvo saved her life in an accident. Just like Costas doesn't know what would have happened if no guns were available to Belcher, the lady is making a dubious claim. It's entirely possible that a Hyundai or a Ford would have done the same for her.

Second, doesn't Costas know that most gun violence committed in this country is by liberals? Most shootings occur in big cities, which are almost completely far-left. If liberals would stop shooting people, we wouldn't have idiotic sports reporters shooting their mouths off.
