This video shows something I've been frustrated about for a long time. Maybe everyone has. Having a road system that allows pedestrians to intermingle with automobiles is asinine. It's a given that people are going to get run over with this system. Having roads without barriers between directions of travel is just as bad.
Most of the strikes in the video are caused by cars not having a line of site on the peds because there are cars in the adjacent lane. Sure, people should consider why the cars in the other lane have stopped, but I also think poor road / crosswalk design deserves some of the blame.
