Dennis Kucinich chasing the dragon again

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Kucinich is the only congressman to vote against a 9/11 resolution acknowledging the attacks and offering sympathies to the families of victims of the atrocity. Here's what he said in a statement, from Fox News:

It is important that Congress wake up to the truth and exercise its obligation under the Constitution to save our nation from being destroyed from the lies that took us into Iraq, the lies that keep us there, the lies that are being used to set the stage for war against Iran and the lies that have undermined our basic civil liberties here at home.

It's not unlike other things he has said:

Spirit merges with matter to sanctify the universe. Matter transcends to return to spirit. The interchangeability of matter and spirit means the starlit magic of the outermost life of our universe becomes the soul-light magic of the innermost life of our self. The energy of the stars becomes us. We become the energy of the stars. Stardust and spirit unite and we begin: One with the universe. Whole and holy. From one source, endless creative energy, bursting forth, kinetic, elemental. We, the earth, air, water and fire-source of nearly fifteen billion years of cosmic spiraling.

Did he really come out with that Age of Aquarius bullshit?

I believe he did, considering my source: DailyKOS. If you're unfamiliar, KOS is probably the biggest, most popular blog of the left wing in the US. For instance, KOS hosts an annual gathering, and candidate Hillary Clinton attended during the last presidential election cycle.

When the lead guy at KOS (lefty) spoke against Kucinich (another lefty) as a presidential candidate, he got some heat from readers. So he published some excerpts from Kucinich speeches, saying essentially that while Dennis Kucinich is a good Democrat and Liberal, he is just too insane to support for president.

Here's more info on the KOS post about Kucinich's nuttiness:

As a side note, I think most of this stuff is funny, though my writing usually takes the form of "angry rhetoric"

Speaking of funny, it doesn't get much better than this: In the first elections, some 200 years ago, a not uncommon political ploy was to announce in newspapers that your opponent died. Because the spread of information was so slow, many voters hadn't heard that the news was false by the time election day rolled around. Why waste a vote on a corpse?

We're in an era now where politicians really can't enlist newspaper editors to slander an opponent -- except that 85% of all media in the US supports Democratic candidates and willing slam the right-wing. But we now have talk radio and Youtube!

Jeez. If the Kossacks think he's a loon, I'm almost warming to the man.
Then again, even they must have a line in the sand somewhere.
Not that I saw it during the Messiah's election.
