The cold temps bring to mind the reason socialists changed "global warming" to "climate change". The former wasn't getting any traction when it gets cold, so they had to change in order to continue scaring the public.
CNN is running a commercial with a man standing on train tracks with a train coming on at full speed. The train, of course, is "climate change". It's hysteria on a high order, based on speculative climate models. The weather folks, by the way, can't predict local weather more than four days in advance, but we should believe the 100-year doomsday scenario.
Socialists and their media stooges have been waging a battle against capitalism and industry for 100 years now. Anthropogenic "climate change" is the latest battleground (after climate cooling, mass oil shortages, acid rain, Mad Cow, SARS, and bird flu). Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!
Jacques Strappe Chirac is talking about an EU "carbon tax" on U.S. imports. If that happens, we should place a "cold tax" on European imports. French wine will be left out in the cold.
AP:

In northern Minnesota, the temperature crashed to 42 below Monday morning at Embarrass, 38 below at Hallock and 30 below at International Falls, the weather service said.

You're not seriously suggesting that global warming is fiction just because it's gets colder at certain times of the year?
